About the position

The Accounting Manager at Troon Corporate will oversee the company's accounting functions, ensuring compliance with financial reporting standards and supporting continuous improvement in accounting processes. This role requires strong leadership skills and the ability to manage multiple projects while collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance accounting operations.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the preparation of monthly financial statements in compliance with GAAP.
  • Manage and ensure the accuracy of the general ledger, including reconciliation of accounts and month-end close processes.
  • Develop, maintain, and improve internal control policies and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local regulatory laws and accounting standards.
  • Lead initiatives to streamline accounting processes and enhance the use of financial systems.
  • Supervise, mentor, and develop a team of accountants.
  • Prepare for and manage external audits, ensuring timely delivery of requested information.
  • Collaborate with departments across the organization to support financial analysis and decision-making.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) and advanced knowledge of Excel.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP, financial statement preparation, and internal controls.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

Nice-to-haves

  • CPA certification
  • Experience in process improvement initiatives and working with cross-functional teams
  • Knowledge of automation tools, data analysis software, or system implementation.
