The Accounting Manager at Jews for Jesus plays a crucial role within the Finance Department, contributing to the organization's mission of pursuing God's plan for the salvation of the Jewish people. This position is integral to maintaining the financial health of the organization and ensuring compliance with various financial regulations. The Accounting Manager will be responsible for overseeing payroll processing, managing donation processing, and ensuring accurate financial reporting. This is an in-office position located in San Francisco, CA, and may require occasional evening or weekend work to meet deadlines or complete essential tasks. In this role, the Accounting Manager will process payroll bi-monthly while maintaining accurate payroll records. They will also calculate and process month-end benefits, prepare and reconcile intercompany transfers, and assist with the month-end close. The manager will be responsible for reconciling general ledger balance sheet accounts and bank accounts, managing a donation processing team of two direct reports, and maintaining charitable gift annuity records. Additionally, the Accounting Manager will record fixed assets and reconcile the fixed asset account on a monthly basis, administer the San Francisco Health Ordinance plan, and handle quarterly and annual tax filings. The position requires supervisory responsibilities and the ability to produce year-end financial audit schedules, along with performing other duties as assigned by the supervisor. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills, be adaptable to change in a fast-paced environment, and demonstrate a willingness to learn new tasks. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential, as is the ability to meet deadlines and work independently with strong planning and prioritization skills.
