Pennsylvania's Office of Comptroller Operations is seeking an accounting manager to lead its Human Services Grant Accounting unit. This position is integral to overseeing the extensive grant accounting and reporting necessary to fund vital public services that ensure all people in Pennsylvania can lead safe, healthy, and productive lives. The Human Services Accounting Manager will direct and manage the staff and accounting operations of the human services grant unit within the General Accounting Division of the Bureau of Accounting and Financial Management. The ideal candidate will possess an in-depth knowledge of professional accounting principles, proven team-building skills, and effective managerial practices in planning and directing operations efficiently. The unit is responsible for overseeing the accounting and reporting of a wide array of human services grants, ensuring compliance with all state and federal accounting and budgetary requirements. A thorough understanding of generally accepted accounting and reporting principles, federal grant reporting, and relevant laws, rules, regulations, policies, and procedures is essential. In this role, you will routinely liaise with local, state, and federal entities involved in the work of the unit, emphasizing the importance of maintaining high quality and timeliness standards in the performance of accounting services. Work hours are from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday to Friday, with a 60-minute lunch break. While this is a full-time telework position, occasional in-office days may be required.
