About the position

The Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing the Finance Department within a growing manufacturing company. This role involves managing financial reporting, billing, collections, payroll, and accounts payable, while also supporting the executive leadership team with financial information. The Accounting Manager acts as a liaison for IT issues and manages employee health, welfare, and retirement plans across the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the finance staff responsible for financial reporting, billing, collections, payroll, accounts payable, and business plan preparation.
  • Delegate financial tasks to enhance efficiency within the department.
  • Coordinate with subsidiary financial teams for financial data requests.
  • Recruit and hire accounting and financial staff, conducting performance evaluations.
  • Coordinate training programs for new staff and identify training needs for current staff.
  • Ensure the Finance Department maintains, enters, and analyzes month-end GL reconciliations and journal entries.
  • Process ACH, Check, and Credit Card payments as part of weekly accounts payable management.
  • Process monthly billings from insurance providers and resolve variances.
  • Bill subsidiaries participating in benefits programs and collect reimbursements.
  • Complete bi-weekly payroll and 401(k) contributions.
  • Manage HRIS systems data and support HR as needed.
  • Serve as the site point of contact for the year-end audit process.
  • Act as a liaison with the outsourced IT group and be the first point of contact for IT issues.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Business Administration preferred.
  • Proficiency in Excel, Word, Outlook, and Adobe software.
  • Experience with ERP systems and GL systems, specifically Infor CSI/Syteline 10.
  • Experience with HRIS systems and payroll, benefits administration (iSolved).
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented.
  • Ability to work extended hours when required.

Nice-to-haves

  • Active Pennsylvania Notary is a plus.
