About the position

The Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing the accounting staff, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and maintaining the integrity of the general ledger. This role involves training and supervising team members, preparing financial statements, and interacting with external auditors and consultants. The Accounting Manager plays a critical role in evaluating performance, managing day-to-day accounting activities, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations.

Responsibilities

• Train, discipline, and supervise accounting staff.
• Evaluate performance and ensure appraisals are completed as required.
• Prepare monthly internal financial statements and assigned work papers.
• Review daily cash reports and monthly bank reconciliations for all bank accounts.
• Ensure accuracy of all journal entries made to the general ledger.
• Prepare account analysis and calculate reserves for doubtful accounts.
• Maintain trial balances and general ledgers.
• Research budget variances and gross margin discrepancies.
• Interact with outside auditors, accountants, and consultants.
• Assist in bonus calculations and approval of outgoing wires.

Requirements

• Experience in preparing financial statements.
• Proficiency in journal entry preparation and review.
• Strong account analysis skills.
• Ability to calculate reserves for doubtful accounts.
• Experience in maintaining trial balances and general ledgers.
• Knowledge of budget variance research.
• Experience interacting with auditors and accountants.
• Familiarity with foreign cost spreadsheets and gross margin discrepancy research.
• Experience in bonus calculations and payroll processing backup.
• Ability to manage daily cash reporting.
