About the position

The Accounting Manager will supervise, monitor, and evaluate daily accounting activities to ensure an accurate and timely monthly closing process. This role is crucial in monitoring the production of financial reports and maintaining strong financial controls to enhance the accuracy of the company's reported financial results. The Accounting Manager will assist with the development and implementation of accounting systems for collecting, analyzing, verifying, and reporting accurate financial information. This position requires providing high-level analytics and completing projects for senior management as needed, addressing various accounting activities including general ledger preparation, year-end audit preparation, and supporting budget and forecast activities, all under tight deadlines. In addition, the Accounting Manager will manage ongoing quality improvement needs across all accounting departments and direct cash management initiatives, which include process documentation, refinement, and automation. The role also involves assisting with the protection of assets by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing internal controls. Timely completion of employee evaluations and ongoing assessment of staff competencies are also key responsibilities. The Accounting Manager will escalate urgent matters regarding finance and accounting daily operations as appropriate and participate in the month-end close process, including accruals and other journal entries. Collaboration with other departments to strategize and problem-solve ongoing issues that impact departmental and organizational goals is essential. The position demands creativity, intelligence, and discretion in managing department functions.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the development and implementation of accounting systems for collecting, analyzing, verifying, and reporting accurate financial information

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Masters or CPA preferred
  • 7-10 years of relevant work experience, with 3-5 years in a management role with increasing levels of responsibility
  • Understanding of corporate accounting policies and procedures
  • Understanding and knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
