About the position

The Accounting Manager at Cambria New Orleans Warehouse District plays a crucial role in overseeing the accounting operations of the hotel. This position involves compiling, reviewing, reconciling, and analyzing financial data to ensure accurate bookkeeping and timely financial reporting. The Accounting Manager will also assist with payroll, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and internal controls, while making recommendations for financial control improvements.

Responsibilities

  • Train, direct the work, resolve problems and assist with the hiring and performance and salary reviews of the accounting employees.
  • Prepare, review and reconcile daily postings, accruals, various general ledger accounts and bank statements to ensure accurate financial information is available.
  • Compile, prepare, back-up and analyze period-end data on food and beverage costs and inventories to provide information and recommendations to management on current procedures and controls.
  • May supervise the accounts receivable function and perform the hotel's credit/collection and food and beverage control function to ensure accurate, timely and quality service and support to hotel customers and management.
  • Review and monitor internal control procedures in the hotel.

Requirements

  • A four-year college degree (Accounting preferred) or equivalent education/experience.
  • 1-2 years of experience in a related position.

  • Advanced knowledge of the principles and practices within the finance and hospitality professions.
  • Ability to investigate and analyze current activities and/or information in a specialized field.
