About the position

The Accounting Manager position at the Florence Center is a hands-on role responsible for administering and managing the daily activities of the accounting function. This role involves a variety of essential duties and responsibilities that contribute to the financial management of the facility. The Accounting Manager will assist in the development and implementation of facility goals and priorities related to financial management, budget, accounting, purchasing, and payroll, ensuring compliance with State and Federal laws as well as ASM Global policies and procedures. Key responsibilities include preparing and performing event settlements, conducting bank reconciliations, and supervising the preparation of all financial reporting. This includes assisting with the preparation of financial statements for both the Client and ASM Global Corporate, as well as other financial reports such as monthly statements, the Annual Budget, and the Annual Report. The Accounting Manager will also direct the installation and maintenance of accounting records to accurately reflect receipts and expenditures, maintain general and subsidiary ledgers, and analyze general ledger accounts. In addition to these tasks, the Accounting Manager will conduct internal audits to review accounting and administrative controls, supervise the HR/Financial Coordinator and Receptionist, and assist the AGM/Director of Finance with external audit materials and financial reporting. The role requires a proactive approach to reviewing financial statements with management personnel and directing the installation and maintenance of new accounting, timekeeping, payroll, inventory, and property procedures and controls. Other duties may be assigned as necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the development and implementation of facility goals and priorities relating to financial management, budget, accounting, purchasing, and payroll.
  • Prepare and perform or assist with event settlements.
  • Prepare and perform bank reconciliations.
  • Supervise and assist with the preparation of all financial reporting, including financial statements and other financial reports.
  • Direct the installation and maintenance of accounting records to show receipts and expenditures.
  • Maintain general and subsidiary ledgers, accounts receivable, revenue distribution, depreciation, cost, and operating expenses.
  • Maintain, reconcile, and analyze general ledger accounts.
  • Prepare and analyze information for financial statements and reports.
  • Conduct internal audits involving review of accounting and administrative controls.
  • Supervise HR/Financial Coordinator and Receptionist, acting as backup when needed.
  • Assist the AGM/Director of Finance with external audit materials and external financial reporting.
  • Review financial statements with management personnel.
  • Direct the installation and maintenance of new accounting, timekeeping, payroll, inventory, property and other related procedures and controls.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree (BA) from a four-year college or university with a major in accounting.
  • Minimum 3 years' related experience and/or training is preferred.
  • Experience in public accounting or event facility accounting preferred.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills essential.
  • Ability to work independently or in a team environment.
  • Must pass credit check and background check.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Excel is essential.
  • Experience with Sage or Peachtree Accounting Software is preferred.
