About the position

The Accounting Manager at Armtec Defense Technologies plays a crucial role in overseeing the finance function within the company. This position requires effective interaction with all levels of the organization and involves leadership and hands-on management of various accounting activities. The role is essential for ensuring compliance with financial regulations and supporting the company's objectives through accurate financial reporting and analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the monthly closing, financial reporting, and analysis in a compressed 3-day reporting schedule.
  • Assist with the consolidation of financial data for quarterly business unit presentations.
  • Develop business analyses to identify areas for improving financial performance.
  • Participate in cost productivity reviews and validate cost savings.
  • Support BU Controllers in managing cost accounting activities for accurate product cost information.
  • Monitor operational activities for compliance with internal control procedures and SOX requirements.
  • Coordinate all external audit activities and provide timely audit schedules.
  • Oversee all account reconciliations to ensure timely completion.
  • Manage Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions.
  • Train and develop all members of the Accounting Team.
  • Evaluate the Accounting Team workload and streamline processes as required.
  • Assist with system process improvements and upgrades.
  • Maintain the highest ethical standards and adhere to Armtec's ethics and business conduct policies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting.
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive Accounting and Finance experience.
  • CPA or CMA preferred.
  • Experience working in a manufacturing company required.
  • Experience in Financial Planning & Analysis, Financial Accounting, and Cost Accounting required.
  • Demonstrated ability to understand a business's strategy and link it to financial initiatives.
  • Experience managing people, projects, and tasks effectively.
  • Strong communication skills to interact at all levels within the organization.
  • Highly computer proficient, including advanced capabilities with Excel.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in a large or mid-sized corporate accounting environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, develop, and retain associates within the finance organization.
