About the position

We are seeking an Accounting Manager for a quickly growing third-party insurance administration company that is focused in the auto warranty industry. The Accounting Manager will oversee the work of accounting and finance staff, delegating tasks and providing guidance and support to ensure accurate and timely completion of all accounting duties. This role is critical in preparing accurate and timely financial statements in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements. In this position, the Accounting Manager will establish and maintain relationships with banking institutions, ensuring efficient cash management and access to necessary banking services. The role also involves overseeing cash flow forecasting, budgeting, and financial planning to ensure the company's financial stability and growth. The Accounting Manager will manage the annual external audit process, organizing and producing relevant information under the guidance of the CFO. Additionally, the Accounting Manager will work closely with the CFO to develop, implement, and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure accurate financial reporting. Compliance is a key aspect of this role, as the Accounting Manager will ensure adherence to federal, state, and local tax regulations, including the preparation and filing of all required tax returns. The position also requires preparing and analyzing financial data to identify trends, assess performance, and provide recommendations for process improvements.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the work of accounting and finance staff, delegating tasks and providing guidance and support.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field.
  • 5-10 years of experience in accounting at the management level.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and tax regulations.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to deliver reports and analytics to stakeholders.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and accounting software.
  • CPA desired.
