Responsibilities

  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the construction accounting division; including accurate and timely processing of A/P, A/R, and Cost Accounting.
  • Provide strong leadership, direction and mentorship to a team of 5-10.
  • Establish strong processes and reporting around the construction accounting including the monthly WIP process. (percentage of completion accounting)
  • Manage and lead an accurate and timely monthly close within the corporate deadlines.
  • Provide detailed explanations for variances in monthly and quarterly numbers.
  • Become a subject matter expert in everything that is renovations accounting.
  • Review and approve certain local account reconciliations and journal entries in accordance with company policies.
  • Identify and drive process improvements within corporate and globally throughout the organization.
  • Establish strong partnership with key stakeholders throughout the KATERRA organization.
  • Provide timely support and guidance to all ad hoc requests including audit and tax.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in accounting or business required.
  • CPA, CA, CIMA, ACCA or international equivalent is preferred.
  • Experience of working in the construction Industry will be a significant advantage.
  • Extensive experience identification and driving system and process improvements.
  • Sound knowledge of Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) and experience in ensuring compliance with US GAAP.
  • Solid leadership skills required and ability to interface and collaborate with senior executive management.
  • Ability to work well and negotiate a team environment is a must.
  • Ability to work in a global environment and support internal customers geographically dispersed.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel, knowledge and PowerPoint skills.
  • Experience working in an ERP environment. Sage preferred.
  • Highest standards of accuracy and precision; highly organized.
  • Articulate with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to think creatively, highly driven, flexible and self-motivated.
  • Demonstrated ability to roll-up sleeves and work with team members in a hands-on management capacity.
