About the position

The Accounting Manager at ASQ will play a crucial role in the finance team, overseeing the day-to-day operations of the General Ledger Accounting and Financial Reporting. This position requires a collaborative and team-focused approach, as the manager will be responsible for hiring, training, managing, and developing a qualified financial accounting staff. The goal is to ensure that the department functions effectively, providing excellent customer service while maintaining continuity of managerial and specialized skills. In this role, the Accounting Manager will design and maintain financial accounting processes, which include journal entries, general ledger management, account reconciliations, and financial close processes. Compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Practices (GAAP) is essential, and the manager will continually review the company's financial accounting processes, making necessary corrections and recommendations, especially regarding the adoption of new accounting standards. The position also involves preparing necessary documents and schedules to support ASQ's tax, audit, budget, and forecast processes. The Accounting Manager will assist the Financial Controller in cash forecasting and liquidity management, driving efficiency and process improvements throughout the accounting function. Collaboration, engagement, and knowledge transfer within the Financial Management team and other business units are key aspects of this role, along with adherence to ASQ's core competencies: Trust, Accountability, Collaboration, and Transparency. The manager will also perform other duties as assigned, contributing to the overall success of the finance team.

Responsibilities

  • Hire, train, manage, and develop qualified financial accounting staff.
  • Design and maintain financial accounting processes, including journal entries and general ledger management.
  • Ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Practices (GAAP).
  • Review and recommend corrections to the company's financial accounting processes.
  • Prepare documents and schedules for tax, audit, budget, and forecast processes.
  • Assist the Financial Controller in cash forecasting and liquidity management.
  • Drive efficiency and process improvements in the accounting function.
  • Promote collaboration and knowledge transfer within the Financial Management team.

  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
  • Minimum of five years of accounting experience.
  • Minimum of one year of people management experience.
  • Ability to comply with attendance and timeliness policies.
