About the position

The Accounting Manager at Neptune plays a crucial role in leading the day-to-day accounting operations and providing strategic insights to support the company's growth in the water utility sector. This position involves managing accounting functions across North America, collaborating with various teams, and driving process improvements to enhance operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Lead the day-to-day accounting operations.
• Manage employee travel and expense program.
• Review accounts payable and approve AP disbursements.
• Review and analyze accounts receivable.
• Maintain and file monthly sales and use tax.
• Create, review, and post journal entries.
• Prepare and review assigned account reconciliations.
• Maintain the deferred revenue recognition management system.
• Manage the timely completion of the month-end close.
• Support the annual audit process.
• Assist the controller in identifying opportunities for process optimization and automation.
• Collaborate with corporate and factory finance teams on cross-functional projects.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
• 4-6 years' experience in progressive accounting roles.
• Knowledge of concepts, processes, and tools of the accounting profession.
• Advanced Excel skills and proficiency in other Microsoft Office applications.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Attention to detail, organized, and analytical.
• Requires a high level of initiative and independence.
• Strong problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team environment.
