About the position

The Accounting Manager will oversee the financial health of the organization by managing the accounting team, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and maintaining compliance with regulatory standards. This role requires strong leadership skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate across departments to support the company's strategic goals.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the daily operations of the accounting department, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger.
  • Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring compliance with GAAP and other regulatory requirements.
  • Lead the coordination and completion of annual audits, liaising with external auditors to meet all audit requirements.
  • Develop and implement financial policies and procedures to enhance efficiency and ensure compliance with internal controls and regulatory standards.
  • Supervise, mentor, and develop accounting staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture within the team.
  • Work closely with other departments to provide financial insights and support for various projects and initiatives, ensuring alignment of financial goals with overall company objectives.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings, staying updated on changes in tax laws and regulations.
  • Conduct detailed financial analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and risks, providing actionable recommendations to senior management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • CPA or CMA certification is highly preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience, with one to two years of supervisory experience preferred.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle) and advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP, financial reporting, and regulatory compliance.
  • Proven ability to lead and develop a team with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial information clearly.
