About the position

The Accounting Manager will oversee the accounting department for a construction company, ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance with accounting standards. This role involves managing the full cycle of accounts receivable and payable, conducting financial reviews, and preparing for audits and tax returns. The position is temp-to-hire, offering full-time hours with a focus on construction accounting.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee project construction accounting department.
  • Review, analyze, and present month-end, quarter-end, and annual financial statements to management.
  • Conduct monthly financial project review meetings.
  • Oversee and review yearly audit and preparation of tax returns by external CPA.
  • Analyze and manage the process for work in progress (WIP) reporting and closing process.
  • Responsible for oversight of the full cycle accounts receivable and accounts payable process.
  • Complete billing with management team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting required.
  • 3-5 years construction experience preferred.
  • Experience with Quickbooks and basic accounting principles.
  • Human resource experience with benefits and new hires.
  • Applicant may be subject to a background check.
  • Pre-employment drug screen is required as a condition of employment.

Nice-to-haves

  • Familiarity with Work in Progress accounting.
