The Accounting Manager will lead and mentor a team of accountants, serving as a subject matter expert in accounting for both operating and capital expenditures. This role requires ensuring that monthly and quarterly financial results and processes comply with GAAP and SOX standards. In this role, the Accounting Manager will lead all accounting activities related to operating and capital expenditures. They will motivate and mentor their team, emphasizing high levels of service, accuracy, and timeliness. The position involves creating a collaborative environment within the Accounting team, facilitating communication and problem-solving with both the Accounting team and the broader Goosehead team. Responsibilities include preparing and reviewing monthly journal entries and account reconciliations, as well as preparing monthly financial statement analyses and assisting the team in documenting their analyses appropriately. Additionally, the Accounting Manager will prepare ad hoc analyses to support management decision-making, proactively identifying and delivering key insights into financial performance. They will assist in the preparation of quarterly SEC filings, which includes preparing supporting schedules, analyses, external documentation, and audit requests. The role also involves identifying opportunities for process improvement and leading special projects aimed at enhancing processes within the Accounting and Finance organization. Furthermore, the Accounting Manager will develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
