About the position

The Accounting Manager at CORT Events is a pivotal role responsible for overseeing the daily accounting operations and ensuring the accuracy of financial data. This position leads the monthly close procedures and provides financial analysis and recommendations to senior management, contributing to the overall financial health of the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Leads monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting close procedures, including review of accruals, journal entries, and financial results analysis.
  • Ensures accurate and timely financial reporting.
  • Assists in developing and implementing financial management goals, policies, and procedures.
  • Leads and mentors a team of five accounting and billing personnel.
  • Gathers insights from business leaders to analyze budget variances and develop strategies to address gaps.
  • Performs ad hoc financial analysis to support strategic business decisions.
  • Participates in commercial activities, including contract review and credit decisioning.
  • Directs maintenance of general and subsidiary ledgers and accounts receivable aging.
  • Calculates commissions and rebates for payments.
  • Coordinates preparation of documentation for audits and financial reporting.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
  • Minimum of four years of related experience in multi-location general ledger accounting or corporate finance.
  • Minimum of two years of experience as a people manager or team lead.
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

Nice-to-haves

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
  • Prior experience or interest in commercial finance and budget management.
  • Experience with Peoplesoft General Ledger.
  • Familiarity with SalesForce.com and authoring queries.
  • Experience with Adaptive Planning.
