About the position

Phreesia is seeking a collaborative and process-oriented Accounting Manager to join our dynamic team. As a publicly traded healthcare technology company, we are the leading provider of automated patient intake solutions. The Accounting Manager will play a crucial role in supporting our finance and accounting operations to meet the demands of our growing business. This position requires a highly motivated individual with strong accounting and analytical skills who can work effectively in a fast-paced environment. In this role, you will be responsible for owning and driving projects aimed at improving processes across the accounting function. You will assist in the development and implementation of both monthly and non-monthly reporting of financial results and key performance indicators (KPIs). Performing financial statement analysis and documenting meaningful explanations for fluctuations will be a key part of your responsibilities. You will also review daily and month-end accounting transactions and reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and compliance. Collaboration is essential in this role, as you will work closely with multiple departments and perform ad hoc analysis and projects as requested. You will also liaise with outside auditors during quarterly reviews, year-end audits, and control walkthroughs. Additionally, you will assist in the preparation of tax analysis and provide requested information to ensure compliance with regulations. Continuous improvement of business processes through automation, thoughtful analysis, and researching best practices will be a focus of your work, contributing to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the accounting function.

Responsibilities

  • Own and drive projects for process improvements across the accounting function
  • Assist with development and implementation of monthly and non-monthly reporting financial results and other KPIs
  • Perform financial statement analysis and document meaningful explanations for fluctuations
  • Review daily and month-end accounting transactions and reconciliations
  • Work collaboratively with multiple departments and perform ad hoc analysis and projects as requested
  • Work with outside auditors during quarterly reviews, year-end audits and control walkthroughs
  • Assist in preparation of tax analysis and provide requested information
  • Continually improve business processes through automation, thoughtful analysis and researching best practices inside and outside the company.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and CPA required
  • 5-8 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably a mix of public accounting firm ('Big 4') and public company experience
  • Working experience and knowledge of Sarbanes Oxley internal control requirements
  • Experience leveraging systems for accounting efficiencies and reporting
  • Strong analytical skills and written/verbal communication skills, able to work independently and collaboratively
  • Ability to adhere and meet internal and external deadlines in a dynamic and challenging environment
  • Ability to recognize potential issues and problems, know when to escalate and propose solutions, where possible
  • Workday experience preferred and advanced excel skills required.
