About the position

As an Accounting Manager at IPS, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the day-to-day and monthly accounting operations across multiple sites. This position requires close collaboration with the Regional Finance Manager and the Corporate Finance team to ensure a smooth month-end close process. You will provide essential guidance to the regional team throughout the month, focusing on various accounting operations at the Service Centers, which include supervising invoicing, payables, job costing, payroll, and more. Your responsibilities will extend to both the Denver Kingston Service Center and the Tucson, AZ location, where you will be instrumental in maintaining financial accuracy and operational efficiency. In this role, you will perform the month-end close process, which involves processing journal entries, conducting account reconciliations, and preparing financial reports. You will work daily with the Area General Manager to support business decisions and drive process improvements that enhance profitability within the financial and operational value streams. Additionally, you will collaborate with the Regional Finance Manager to support financial planning and analysis for the Service Center, including the development of the annual budget. Your expertise will also be required in guiding the Service Center Finance staff on job costing, inventory counting and analysis, accounts payable, labor entry, and expense reporting. Moreover, you will be expected to perform ad-hoc analyses to facilitate data-driven decisions aimed at growing sales and profitability. This position involves approximately 25% travel to support Service Center staff, making it essential for you to be adaptable and ready to engage with teams across different locations.

Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day and monthly accounting operations for multiple sites.
  • Facilitate the month-end close process, including processing journal entries, account reconciliation, and financial reporting.
  • Support business decisions and drive process improvement and profitability in financial and operating value streams by working daily with the Area General Manager.
  • Assist in financial planning and analysis with the Service Center, including annual budget development, in collaboration with the Regional Finance Manager.
  • Provide guidance to the Service Center Finance staff for job costing, inventory counting & analysis, accounts payable, labor entry, and expense reporting.
  • Perform ad-hoc analysis to drive data-based decisions to grow sales and profitability.
  • Travel 25% to support Service Center staff.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • Minimum 5 years of Accounting experience preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years of Managerial Accounting experience preferred.
  • Proficient with MS Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Working knowledge of accounting systems and month-end close processes.
