About the position

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accounting Manager to join our dynamic finance team. This role involves managing the accounting team, ensuring compliance with payroll regulations, and providing insightful financial analysis to support strategic decision-making. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of accounting principles, particularly in Transportation and Logistics, Tax regulations, and Corporate accounting.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements and reports in accordance with GAAP.
• Conduct general ledger and bank reconciliation to ensure accuracy of financial data.
• Assist in payroll tax preparation and filing processes, including federal, state, and local tax returns.
• Collaborate with team members to perform technical accounting tasks and resolve discrepancies.
• Provide support for financial report writing, including variance analysis and forecasting.
• Utilize accounting software such as McLeod Software for efficient financial management.
• Participate in audits and assist in the preparation of audit schedules.

Requirements

• Strong knowledge of the Transportation industry and McLeod Software (preferred).
• Strong knowledge of tax regulations, payroll reporting, and compliance requirements.
• Experience in regulatory reporting and general ledger reconciliation.
• Background in corporate accounting with a focus on Transportation.
• Excellent financial report writing skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while managing multiple priorities effectively.
• Strong analytical skills with a problem-solving mindset.
