About the position

Duffy Kruspodin, LLP is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to oversee the financial operations for SD Commercial, a property management company in San Diego. The role involves maintaining accurate accounting records, preparing financial statements, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in real estate accounting and management experience, contributing to the success of the accounting department and supporting various business operations.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly bank reconciliations and financial statements for all accounts
• Supervise accounting department
• Support all staff and managers at each business to ensure success, including providing IT support and troubleshooting as needed
• Responsible for the 401(k) process and plan
• Prepare year-end financial statements for all operating entities
• Prepare audit workpapers for entities included in NEI consolidated financial statements
• Coordinate annual consolidated financial audit
• Review management fees
• Prepare monthly and quarterly tax returns
• Prepare analytic Excel spreadsheets at the request of management
• Frequent communication with public accounting representatives
• Prepare tax projections and planning for the following year
• Responsible for payment of property taxes and city license tax renewals
• Assist in additional tasks as required

Requirements

• Expert in general ledger and payroll processing
• Expert in real estate accounting
• Management experience
• Organized with impeccable time management skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Experience with AppFolio is a plus
