About the position

Robert Half is seeking an individual to take on the role of Accounting Manager, responsible for overseeing the daily operations of a shared services team consisting of 10 direct reports. This position requires maintaining the accuracy of financial records and ensuring compliance with revenue recognition standards as per ASC606. The Accounting Manager will play a crucial role in managing the month-end close process, coordinating with various business units, reconciling accounts, managing cash collections, and calculating sales commissions. Additionally, the role involves enhancing process transparency to improve operational efficiency. The position operates on a hybrid schedule, requiring the individual to be in the office two days a week. This role is also bonus eligible, providing an opportunity for additional financial rewards based on performance. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and the ability to manage a large team effectively, ensuring that all financial operations are conducted smoothly and in compliance with relevant regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the daily operations of a shared services team with 10 direct reports.
  • Maintain the accuracy of financial records and ensure compliance with ASC606 revenue recognition standards.
  • Manage the month-end close process and coordinate with various business units.
  • Reconcile accounts and manage cash collections effectively.
  • Calculate sales commissions and enhance process transparency.

Requirements

  • Must have managed a large team, with at least 5+ direct reports.
  • Proficient in Company Revenue Recognition standards.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Advanced knowledge of accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a relevant field required.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification is a plus.
  • Excellent organizational and leadership skills.
  • Outstanding analytical and time management abilities.
  • Up-to-date with current financial and accounting regulations and laws.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality in handling sensitive financial information.

Nice-to-haves
