About the position

Robert Half is currently seeking a Tax Manager for a dynamic client in Memphis, TN. This role is ideal for an experienced Tax Manager who is looking for a challenging position within an established company. The Tax Manager will be responsible for a variety of tasks that are crucial to the financial health of the organization. The successful candidate will have a strong proficiency in Excel and tax software, along with expertise in preparing various types of tax returns and financial statements. This position requires a detail-oriented individual who can manage multiple responsibilities and ensure compliance with tax regulations. In this role, the Tax Manager will assist with the preparation of quarterly tax projections and communicate the required estimated tax payments. They will also play a key role in reviewing the calculation and distribution of W-2s and 1099s, ensuring accuracy and compliance. The Tax Manager will be responsible for putting together and reviewing complex income tax returns, as well as reviewing all financial statements for quality control. Additionally, they will prepare and review tax correspondence and facilitate and oversee tax audits, ensuring that all processes are handled efficiently and effectively. The Tax Manager will also determine tax best business practices and relay this information to staff accountants and accounting managers. Compliance with financial and tax reporting policies and procedures is essential, and the Tax Manager will assist in planning and compliance regarding tax matters, including waivers and tax returns. Furthermore, they will supervise and review quarterly and annual payroll tax returns, ensuring that all submissions are accurate and timely.

Responsibilities

  • Help with the preparation of quarterly tax projections and communication of required estimated tax payments
  • Assist in the review of the calculation and distribution of W-2s and 1099s
  • Put together and review complex income tax returns
  • Take part in reviewing all financial statements for quality control
  • Prepare and review tax correspondence and facilitate and oversight of tax audits
  • Determine tax best business practices and relay to staff accountants and accounting managers
  • Assist with compliance with financial and tax reporting policies and procedures
  • Assist in planning and compliance regarding tax matters, such as waivers and tax returns
  • Supervise and review quarterly and annual payroll tax returns

Requirements

  • 2+ years of supervisory experience
  • Bachelors or masters degree in Accounting or relevant field required
  • 5-7 years' experience in tax accounting
  • CPA preferred
