About the position

The Corporate Accounting Manager plays a crucial role in overseeing the financial operations of Holding Companies and Canadian Entities. This position is responsible for planning and executing the monthly close process, ensuring that all accounting activities are conducted accurately and efficiently. The manager will also be tasked with rolling out the quarterly and yearly forecasting and operating plan processes for all Corporate Departments, which involves a thorough review and analysis of forecasts and operating plans. Maintaining strong financial controls and procedures related to the financial close is essential to this role, as is the ability to lead efforts to automate and improve existing accounting processes. In addition to managing the monthly close process, the Corporate Accounting Manager will oversee the accounting for treasury transactions and expense accruals related to the holding companies and Canadian entities. This includes reviewing journal entry preparation, account reconciliations, and conducting analyses related to Holding Company accounts. The manager will coordinate external audits and liaise with third-party accounting firms to ensure the timely preparation and filing of financial statements for the holding companies. Furthermore, the role involves overseeing the statutory filing compliance process for all international locations, ensuring that all regulatory requirements are met. The Corporate Accounting Manager will also assist in the preparation of the monthly consolidated cash flow statement and participate in monthly consolidation activities as needed. This position requires a self-motivated individual with a high attention to detail and a results-oriented mentality, committed to continuous improvement and effective collaboration across various levels of the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Accounting for the activity of the holding companies and Canadian entities including treasury transactions and expense accruals.
  • Responsible for the review of journal entry preparation, account reconciliations and analysis relating to Holding Company accounts.
  • Coordinating external audits and liaise with third party accounting firms to coordinate financial statements preparation and timely filings for holding companies.
  • Oversee statutory filing compliance process for all international locations.
  • Lead efforts to automate and improve existing accounting processes.
  • Roll-out the quarterly forecasting and yearly operating plans processes for all Corporate Departments.
  • Review and analysis of forecasts and operating plans.
  • Monthly variance analysis of operating plan and forecast against actual results for all Corporate Departments.
  • Assist in the preparation of the monthly consolidated cash flow statement.
  • Assist in the monthly consolidations activities as needed.

Requirements

  • 8+ years corporate accounting experience.
  • BS/BA/BBA (Accounting) with CPA preferred.
  • Self-motivated individual with a high attention to detail, results-oriented mentality and commitment to continuous improvement.
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills.
  • Experience with Hyperion Financial Management (HFM) tool a plus.
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics SL a plus.
  • Blackline account reconciliation and journal entry experience highly desired.
  • Proven ability to establish and build relationships across an organization.
  • Ability to work effectively and collaborate with associates at varying levels across the Company.
