About the position

Jamie Benway with Robert Half is offering an exciting opportunity for an Accounting Manager to join our team in TUALATIN, Oregon. In this role, you will be instrumental in the financial sector of our team, focusing on the management and processing of financial data. You will have a hand in the growth of our business, playing a key role in the accounting department. As an Accounting Manager, you will oversee and manage the general accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and taxes. You will assist with the preparation of financial reports on a regular basis and provide these reports to company executives. Your responsibilities will also include managing and supervising the accounting department's daily operations by setting expectations and goals, while encouraging a high level of performance and continuous improvement. In addition, you will review and ensure the application of appropriate internal controls, SOX compliance, and financial procedures. Ensuring the timeliness and accuracy of financial and management reporting data for federal funders, foundations, investors, and the company's board of directors will be crucial. You will oversee the preparation and communication of weekly, monthly, and annual financial statements, coordinating with the senior management team to formulate strategic and operational objectives. Exercising control over the month-end close process to ensure accurate and timely reports will be part of your duties, along with enhancing and implementing financial and accounting systems, processes, tools, and control systems. Finally, you will be responsible for hiring, developing, and managing the accounting team.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in a managerial role within the accounting sector
  • Proficiency in account reconciliation and financial reporting
  • Demonstrated ability to manage month-end close processes
  • Strong knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
  • Proficient with accounting software and related technologies
  • Excellent analytical skills for financial forecasting and budgeting
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a team
  • Exceptional communication skills for liaising with senior management, stakeholders, and external auditors
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • Professional certification such as Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) is desirable
  • Ability to maintain the highest level of confidentiality and integrity
  • Demonstrated ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
