About the position

The Accounting Manager will lead an accounting team and oversee financial operations for a manufacturing company in Englewood, NJ. This full-time, permanent position offers a hybrid working arrangement and is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of financial processes, managing daily accounting tasks, and collaborating with various stakeholders to meet financial deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the accuracy and efficiency of financial processes, including month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closings.
  • Supervise an accounting team, including the review of journal entries and reconciliations.
  • Drive process improvement.
  • Oversee the creation, revision, and deletion of chart of accounts and business units.
  • Manage daily journal entries, fixed assets, CIP, credit card transactions, and bank transactions.
  • Serve as the point of contact with financial institutions for cash management, financial forecasting, and cost control.
  • Approve weekly payments for ACH, wire transfers, and checks and resolve payment-related issues in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate with external auditors.
  • Assess J-SOX compliance in relevant areas.
  • Work closely with department leaders and the parent company on financial matters, escalating to senior management when needed.
  • Cash management.
  • Meet deadlines for financial closings and ensure accurate cash management.

Requirements

  • CPA required
  • Minimum of Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in a similar role
