About the position

Multimatic Michigan is seeking an Accounting Manager to support the Divisional Controller in various financial and accounting functions. This role is crucial for maintaining the integrity of financial records and ensuring compliance with industry standards. The Accounting Manager will be responsible for overseeing accounts payable and receivable, conducting financial analyses, and assisting in the preparation of monthly financial statements and reports. The position requires a detail-oriented individual who can manage multiple tasks while adhering to strict deadlines and compliance requirements. The Accounting Manager will play a key role in the month-end closing process, which includes preparing and posting accrual journal entries, reconciling accounts, and assisting with the annual audit package. Effective communication with vendors, customers, and internal stakeholders is essential to address any financial matters that may arise. The role also involves assisting in the preparation of weekly flash reports, quarterly forecasts, and the annual budget, ensuring that all financial activities align with the company's strategic goals. In addition to the core accounting responsibilities, the Accounting Manager will supervise the Reception/Admin employee and may be assigned additional duties by the Plant Manager or Divisional Controller. The successful candidate will work in compliance with IATF16949 and ISO14001 standards, as well as all legislative requirements of MIOSHA, ensuring that the company's operations meet the highest quality and safety standards.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records
  • Perform and responsible for A/P, A/R accounting duties
  • Perform and responsible for all types of financial analysis (ie. PPV and inventory analysis)
  • Assist with month-end closing including preparing and posting accrual journal entries
  • Assist with monthly financial statements and reports
  • Assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end reconciliation
  • Communicate with vendors, customers, and other stakeholders regarding financial matters
  • Assist with weekly flash, quarterly forecast and annual budget
  • Assist with annual audit package
  • Additional duties as assigned
  • Follow all departmental and general procedures where applicable
  • Supervision of Reception/Admin. employee
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Plant Manager and/or Divisional Controller
  • Works in compliance with IATF16949 and ISO14001 standards
  • Will work in compliance with all legislative requirements of MIOSHA

Requirements

  • 3 years bookkeeping, data entry, and invoicing experience
  • Completion of a university degree or college diploma in accounting or business administration
  • Excellent problem solving, interpersonal and communication skills
  • Automotive industry experience is an asset
  • SAP experience is an asset
  • Excellent English communications skills both written and verbal
  • Self motivated and able to work with minimum supervision
  • Able to successfully interact with all levels of employees in the organization
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
