About the position

The Accounting Manager position at our equipment parts company in San Diego, CA, is a pivotal role that involves overseeing and managing the general accounting functions of the organization. This includes, but is not limited to, accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger management, and tax compliance. The successful candidate will coordinate and direct the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts, instituting and maintaining planning and control procedures while reporting any variances to the leadership team. The role requires the development and implementation of systems for collecting, analyzing, verifying, and reporting financial information, ensuring that all financial data is accurate and timely. In addition to these responsibilities, the Accounting Manager will coordinate and ensure a clean and timely year-end audit, which is crucial for maintaining the integrity of the company's financial reporting. The position also involves supervising and managing the accounting department staff, including accountants and financial assistants, ensuring compliance with all internal processes and regulations. Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage the general accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and taxes.
  • Coordinate and direct the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts.
  • Institute and maintain planning and control procedures, and report variances.
  • Develop and implement systems for collecting, analyzing, verifying, and reporting financial information.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Master's degree or CPA certification is a plus.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior-level finance or accounting position, preferably in the Manufacturing industry.
  • Proven knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles, practices, standards, laws, and regulations.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to direct and supervise.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
