About the position

The Accounting Manager will play a crucial role in maintaining the accounting records in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). This position is responsible for managing the Lease Accounting process for BrandSafway and administering Lease Accelerator, the primary tool used for Lease Accounting. The Accounting Manager will perform monthly closing and financial statement responsibilities, which include reviewing journal entries and reconciliations in Blackline. In addition to these responsibilities, the Accounting Manager will oversee a team of five accountants and staff within the fixed asset team. This role will also assist with the preparation of month-end reporting requirements, including balance sheet flux analysis. The Accounting Manager will lead and manage the development of best practice solutions to enhance departmental processes and will review monthly capital expenditures and fixed asset roll forward reports. Continuous improvement changes for processes and procedures will be driven by this position, ensuring that the accounting department operates efficiently and effectively. The role allows for flexibility, with the option to work from home 2-3 days per week.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accounting records in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
• Manage the Lease Accounting process for BrandSafway.
• Administer and maintain Lease Accelerator, the primary tool for Lease Accounting.
• Perform monthly closing and financial statement responsibilities, including reviewing journal entries and reconciliations in Blackline.
• Manage the fixed asset team of five accountants and staff.
• Assist with the preparation of month-end reporting requirements including balance sheet flux analysis.
• Lead and manage the development of best practice solutions to enhance processes of the department.
• Review monthly capital expenditures and fixed asset roll forward reports.
• Drive continuous improvement changes for processes and procedures.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or foreign equivalent.
• Four (4) years of relevant professional experience in accounting, including experience analyzing complex accounting documents to improve processes and reporting with monetary impact.
• Four (4) years of experience manipulating large sets of data in Microsoft Excel using features such as Vlookup, Sumifs, Filters, and Pivots.
• Three (3) years of experience with Hyperion.
• Three (3) years of experience with process improvement initiatives for internal controls for accounting.
• Two (2) years of experience in financial statement reporting.
• Two (2) years of lease accounting experience.
• Two (2) years of experience with Lease Accelerator.
