About the position

As an Accounting Manager at Novolex, you will play a crucial role in overseeing a broad-based financial function that encompasses a wide range of responsibilities. This includes supporting site facilities, managing monthly accounting and reporting, conducting financial analysis, addressing technical accounting issues, and ensuring robust internal controls are in place. You will coordinate and assist with the month-end close process, which involves preparing journal entries, performing account reconciliations, conducting variance analysis, and researching trends. Additionally, you will assist in the monthly cash flow forecasting process and contribute to the annual balance sheet and SG&A expense operating plans. Your role will also involve participating in physical inventories and the monthly cycle counting process, ensuring timely completion and accuracy of results. You will maintain local ERP ledgers and reconcile them to Hyperion financial statements, perform and review monthly account reconciliations of general ledger accounts, and assist in the preparation and submission of monthly and quarterly corporate reporting. Continuous improvement in financial reporting processes and systems will be a key focus, as well as developing strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external audit teams to facilitate effective and accurate reporting for prompt decision-making. In this position, you will supervise and provide guidance to junior accounting staff, ensuring adherence to all accounting policies and internal controls. You will also assist with special projects and analyses as needed, collaborating with the FP&A, Commercial, and Operations teams, as well as Corporate and other departments. The role requires a commitment to excellence, accountability, and teamwork, with a strong emphasis on communication and strategic thinking.

Responsibilities

  • Support site facilities with broad-based financial responsibilities.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of experience in accounting in a manufacturing environment.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.
  • CPA, CMA, or MBA preferred.
  • Results-driven, analytical, self-motivated, and detail-oriented.
  • Excellent judgment and decision-making ability.
  • Ability to work creatively and flexibly to achieve company goals.
