About the position

The Accounting Manager at ASQ will be a vital part of our collaborative and team-focused finance team. This role is responsible for the day-to-day oversight of ASQ's General Ledger Accounting and Financial Reporting. The Accounting Manager will ensure that all financial accounting processes are designed and maintained effectively, including journal entries, general ledger management, account reconciliations, and the financial close processes. Compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Practices (GAAP) is paramount in this position. The salary range for this position is $86,000 - $107,750 per year. In addition to overseeing the general ledger, the Accounting Manager will hire, train, manage, and develop qualified financial accounting staff to ensure that the department functions efficiently and provides excellent customer service. This role will also involve designing and implementing process efficiencies related to all aspects of the financial management function. Continuous review of the company's financial accounting processes will be necessary, along with making any necessary corrections or recommendations, especially regarding the timing and approach to adopting new accounting standards. The Accounting Manager will prepare necessary documents, schedules, and forms to support ASQ's tax, audit, budget, and forecast processes, as well as assist the Financial Controller in cash forecasting and liquidity management. Driving efficiency, process documentation, and improvements throughout the accounting function is a key responsibility. The role promotes collaboration, engagement, process improvement, and knowledge transfer within the Financial Management team and across other business units. Adherence to ASQ's core competencies of Trust, Accountability, Collaboration, and Transparency is essential. Other duties may be assigned as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Hire, train, manage, and develop qualified financial accounting staff.

  • Review and correct the company's financial accounting processes as necessary.
  • Prepare documents and schedules to support ASQ's tax, audit, budget, and forecast processes.
  • Assist the Financial Controller in cash forecasting and liquidity management.
  • Drive efficiency and process improvements throughout the accounting function.
  • Promote collaboration and knowledge transfer within the Financial Management team and other business units.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
  • Minimum of five years of accounting experience.
  • Minimum of one year of people management experience or equivalent combination.
  • Ability to comply with attendance and timeliness policies.
