The Accounting Manager position at the University of the Pacific's San Francisco campus is a full-time role that involves overseeing and managing various business and accounting functions. Reporting directly to the Associate Dean of Budget and Financial Administration, the Accounting Manager will be responsible for financial reporting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, grants and contracts management, procurement, and cashiering. The successful candidate will collaborate with business and accounting leaders across the university to implement process improvements and evaluate accounting trends to enhance operational efficiency. In this position, the Accounting Manager will manage the year-end close process, ensuring accurate revenue recognition, pre-paid expenses, and accounts receivable aging. They will also oversee the management of capital assets, ensuring annual physical inventory is conducted and coordinating with the Business & Accounting department in Stockton on depreciation schedules. Daily accounting operations will be under their purview, including the review and approval of journal entries, accounts payable requests, purchasing requests, and invoices. The role also involves managing all grants and contracts for the San Francisco campus, acting as the primary liaison between external auditors and the campus, and maintaining documentation on policies and procedures. The Accounting Manager will provide technical accounting guidance, support internal and external customers with accounting transactions, and advise on process improvements. They will be responsible for fostering professional relationships with various internal and external stakeholders, ensuring the office is staffed with qualified personnel, and supporting the continued development of the accounting team.
