About the position

The Accounting Methods Manager at Eide Bailly serves as a firmwide resource for accounting methods-related matters, providing consulting services and managing client projects. This role involves a variety of responsibilities including tax technical research, client interaction, and staff development, all while maintaining high ethical standards and confidentiality. The position can be performed remotely or in-office, offering flexibility in work arrangements.

Responsibilities

  • Provide consulting services for accounting method-related issues including automatic and non-automatic accounting method changes, inventory, revenue recognition, capitalization, cost recovery and accounting periods.
  • Manage, perform, and review client projects, including review and analysis of client data, calculations, supporting documents and IRS filings.
  • Manage client deadlines and workflow for multiple parties, including internal and external clients.
  • Perform and document tax technical research to support tax advice.
  • Build relationships and go to market with internal client relationship executives, business development executives, industry leaders, and their teams.
  • Interface with internal and external clients and approach client interactions with maturity and discretion.
  • Develop and present technical training materials addressing accounting method issues and technical developments.
  • Develop and mentor staff to help grow the accounting methods practice.
  • Produce marketing and thought leadership pieces on accounting methods topics and opportunities for internal and external distribution.
  • Monitor technical and market developments on accounting methods.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.
  • Active CPA license or JD.
  • 5+ years of experience in public accounting, including experience with accounting methods and/or federal tax consulting.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently.
  • High ethical standards and maintain client confidentiality.
  • Interest in keeping up-to-date on tax regulations and policies.
  • Problem-solving skills and ability to develop solutions.
  • Strong relationship-building skills with colleagues.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
