In this role, you will serve as a firmwide resource for accounting methods related matters and will be exposed to a wide range of issues and projects. This position can be based out of any of our office locations or work from home. A typical day as an Accounting Methods Senior Manager/Director might include providing consulting services for accounting method-related issues including automatic and non-automatic accounting method changes, inventory, revenue recognition, capitalization, cost recovery, and accounting periods. You will build relationships and go to market with internal client relationship executives, business development executives, industry leaders, and their teams. Capitalizing on your professional experiences will be essential to develop business and manage client deadlines and workflow for multiple parties, including internal and external clients. You will manage and perform technical reviews of client projects, including the review and analysis of client data, calculations, supporting documents, and IRS filings. Performing and documenting tax technical research to support tax advice will also be a key responsibility. You will interface with internal and external clients and approach client interactions with maturity and discretion. Additionally, you will develop and present technical training materials for both internal and external clients addressing accounting method issues and technical developments. Mentoring existing staff and recruiting experienced staff to help grow the accounting methods practice will be part of your role, along with producing written thought leadership pieces for internal and external distribution. Participation in professional association meetings and forums will also be expected.
