About the position

The Accounting Manager, Revenue and A/R is a dynamic role that encompasses a wide range of responsibilities across various functions within the Accounting organization, including Income Taxes, Corporate Accounting, Revenue/Accounts Receivable, and Company-Owned Stores Accounting. This position is pivotal in overseeing and managing the weekly order to cash process for assigned brands, ensuring accurate monthly revenue entries, and calculating bad debt for those brands. The role is designed for a hands-on individual who is eager to improve processes, coordinate and participate in special projects, and provide exemplary customer service to both internal and external stakeholders. In this role, the Accounting Manager will manage a team of two to four direct reports and up to four indirect reports, which may include AR Supervisors, Staff Accountants, and AR Specialists. Key responsibilities include conducting semi-annual performance reviews, annual goal setting, and regular department meetings to ensure consistent communication regarding all pertinent accounting and finance concerns. The manager will also be responsible for training existing and new employees on relevant systems and processes, ensuring that the team is well-equipped to handle their responsibilities effectively. The position requires hands-on participation in month-end close activities, including journal entries, accruals, revenue recognition, and detailed transaction validation. The Accounting Manager will prepare and maintain balance sheet account reconciliations and related general ledger account analysis, as well as prepare monthly P&L schedules for presentation to FP&A. Additionally, the manager will support FP&A in validating supplier contracts, rates, and data, and lead periodic balance sheet review meetings for Revenue Department reconciliations. The role also involves reviewing supplier contracts to ensure compliance with revenue recognition standards and evaluating the impact on bad debt calculations for all brands. The Accounting Manager will research and apply GAAP pronouncements as necessary and develop and maintain written documentation of accounting policies and procedures. This position serves as the team lead for external auditors regarding product revenue inquiries and will review and interpret the accounting implications of new contracts with franchisees, vendors, and licensing partners. Furthermore, the manager will assist in preparing financial statement footnote disclosures and work as a business partner with other departments, such as supply chain, FP&A, and legal, to meet management's financial reporting and analysis needs.
