About the position

The Accounting Operations Analyst at Addition Financial is responsible for processing and balancing daily ACH files, preparing ACH-related journal entries, and ensuring accurate financial operations within the credit union. This role requires a strong analytical mindset and attention to detail, as well as the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. The position reports to the Accounting Manager and plays a crucial role in maintaining the integrity of financial transactions and records.

Responsibilities

• Processing and balancing daily ACH files from the Federal Reserve Bank.
• Tracking ACH debit origination processing and related activities.
• Conducting ACH research, stop payments, government reclamations, and service pack testing.
• Preparing and updating the ACH Procedure Book for auditors.
• Verifying and posting details of business transactions, including journal entries and ACH entries.
• Balancing the Credit Union external payroll system and recording journals for member payroll distribution.
• Processing automatic internal transfers and reconciling assigned monthly general ledger accounts.
• Handling lockbox loan payment exceptions and balancing daily mobile deposits.
• Performing other general Credit Union accounting operational duties as needed.

Requirements

• Two-year college degree; bachelor's degree preferred.
• 3-5 years of experience in the ACH area.
• Bank or credit union experience using core banking systems (e.g., Symitar).
• Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
• Strong organizational and analytical skills with attention to detail.
• Excellent problem-solving and research skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, multitasking environment.
• Flexibility and strong team player attributes.

Nice-to-haves

• Previous experience in a financial institution, credit union, or banking environment.
• Accredited ACH Professional (AAP) certification is a plus.
