About the position

The Accounting Operations Manager will oversee key accounting functions within Robert Half's organization, ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of financial operations. This remote role requires recent government contracting experience and focuses on managing daily accounting operations, including Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable, payroll processing, and financial reconciliations.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage daily accounting operations including Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR).
  • Review and post financial transactions, ensuring accuracy and compliance with financial regulations.
  • Lead the payroll processing function, handling adjustments, and managing employee records via Paylocity.
  • Carry out reconciliations of customer accounts to ensure financial records are accurate.
  • Conduct regular reviews of expenses and implement cost reduction measures where necessary.
  • Set up and oversee the chart of accounts and cost rules in line with Project Accounting principles.
  • Handle the termination process ensuring all financial aspects are properly managed.
  • Apply understanding of Cost Accounting/ Project Accounting to streamline accounting operations.
  • Utilize skills in Unanet, General Ledger, Journal Entries, and Month End Close procedures to enhance efficiency in accounting operations.
  • Leverage knowledge in Bank Reconciliations to ensure accuracy of financial records.

Requirements

  • Must possess a deep understanding of Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR).
  • Proficiency in performing Bank Reconciliations is required.
  • Should be skilled in maintaining and managing the General Ledger.
  • Experience in recording Journal Entries is necessary.
  • Must have the ability to handle Month End Close procedures.
  • Familiarity with Unanet software is a plus.
  • Should have knowledge in Project Accounting.
  • Experience with Paylocity software is beneficial.
  • The candidate should have a strong background in accounting operations management.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required.
  • Must have strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is required.
  • Detail oriented accounting certification (CPA, CMA, etc.) is preferred.
  • Proven leadership and management skills are necessary.
  • Experience in a similar role is highly desirable.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly in Excel, is required.
  • Must have the ability to work independently and within a team.
  • Strong problem-solving skills are necessary.
  • Must adhere to strict confidentiality and data privacy standards.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines is required.
  • Familiarity with financial regulations and accounting principles is essential.
