About the position

The Accounting Technician position at The Staffing Alliance in Lumberton, NC, is responsible for providing essential financial, administrative, and clerical support to the accounting staff. This full-time role involves managing various accounting tasks, ensuring accuracy in financial documentation, and maintaining effective communication with vendors and employees.

Responsibilities

• Prepare vouchers for invoices approved for payment.
• Prepare copies of invoices and receipts as needed.
• Prepare bank deposits and perform bank statement reconciliation.
• Prepare Excel spreadsheets as needed.
• Manage the onboarding process with new hires.
• Reconcile vendor statements, research, and correct discrepancies.
• Match invoices to checks, obtain all signatures for checks, and distribute checks accordingly.
• Maintain files and documentation thoroughly and accurately, in accordance with company policy and accepted accounting practices.
• Audit and process credit card bills.
• Update and maintain vendor database and respond to all vendor inquiries.
• Assist with other projects as needed.

Requirements

• Associates Degree in Business Administration or equivalent work experience in finance/accounting.
• 1-3 years experience supporting financial operations.
• 2+ years of experience in accounts payable.
• Proficient in MS Office, especially Excel.
• Superior written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise extreme discretion.
• Detail-oriented with good numerical and textual skills, able to proofread work to avoid typographical errors.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, high-volume environment with an emphasis on accuracy and timeliness.
• Ability to interact with employees and vendors in a professional manner.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
