About the position

The Accounting & Payroll Specialist is responsible for managing the company's accounting operations, including bookkeeping, accounts payable (AP), accounts receivable (AR), payroll administration, and benefits plans. This role requires proficiency in accounting software and payroll systems to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting while supporting various clerical human resource functions.

Responsibilities

  • Organize and execute effective operation of company accounting and bookkeeping.
  • Manage bi-weekly payroll including vacation and paid time off (PTO).
  • Reconcile bank statements with the general ledger and tie out balance sheet accounts.
  • Process accounts payable daily, match and batch code invoices, and resolve AP issues.
  • Finalize month-end and year-end financial closing processes.
  • Ensure clean and timely financial data reporting.
  • Process and monitor receivables, manage collections, and cash applications.
  • Assist with new employee onboarding and payroll processing, including compliance filings.
  • Review and process expense reports in the company's system.
  • Assist with periodic internal and external audits as needed.

Requirements

  • Associate degree in accounting or related field.
  • 3 years of experience in accounting, bookkeeping, and payroll management.
  • Experience using ADP payroll and ERP software similar to Epicor.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent Microsoft Excel skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Accounts Receivable or Accounts Payable certification.
  • Experience processing payroll and handling confidential information.
