About the position

We are seeking a detail-oriented Accounting/Payroll Specialist to join our team at Delta Logistics, Inc. This position is crucial for ensuring that our financial operations run smoothly and efficiently. The Accounting Specialist will be responsible for completing payments and controlling expenses by receiving, processing, verifying, and reconciling invoices. A successful candidate will possess strong organizational skills and great attention to detail, which are essential for managing the various tasks associated with payroll and accounting. This is an exciting opportunity to grow and develop with a talented and dynamic team. In this role, you will engage in data entry processing and document scanning of invoices into our accounting systems. You will also be responsible for voiding and reissuing check payments when necessary and recording these transactions appropriately. Other duties may be assigned as needed, which may include payroll preparation, review, and submission, as well as the reconciliation of Payroll Liability Accounts. You will also handle Payroll Tax preparation, review, and submission on a weekly, quarterly, and annual basis, assisting with the monthly and yearly closing processes, and maintaining and updating employee payroll files. Additionally, you will assist with other accounting-related tasks as required. Responsibilities

  • Data entry processing and document scanning of invoices into accounting systems.
  • Void and reissue check payments when needed, and record appropriately.
  • Payroll preparation, review and submission.
  • Reconciliation of Payroll Liability Accounts.
  • Payroll Tax preparation, review and submission - Weekly, Quarterly, and Annually.
  • Assistance with Monthly and Yearly Closing Process.
  • Maintain and update employee's payroll files.
  • Assistance with other accounting related tasks.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • General computer skills (MS Office, emails, typing, etc.); intermediate Microsoft Excel/Quickbooks preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills; ability to prioritize and concentrate in a frequently interrupted environment.
  • High attention to detail; excellent data entry skills.
  • Excellent written skills; ability to write clearly and concisely.
  • Demonstrates excellent customer service and communication: verbal and written.
  • Analytical skills to problem solve with internal and external business partners.
  • Understanding of accounting principles.
  • Russian/Ukranian speaking is a plus.

Nice-to-haves

  • Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills
  • Experience with QuickBooks
  • Ability to communicate in Russian or Ukrainian
