About the position

The Accounting Services Coordinator will play a crucial role in supporting the accounting functions within the Naperville, IL team. This position involves organizing, distributing, and verifying the work of others while participating in their training. The coordinator will ensure the accuracy and proper processing of accounting documents and data through various systems, contributing to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the accounting department.

Responsibilities

  • Provide in-depth accounting support for all accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and job costing.
  • Perform accounting functions such as entry, coding, editing, and verification according to company policy and procedures.
  • Review customer contracts and revenue for accuracy and completeness.
  • Verify the internal consistency and mathematical accuracy of accounting documents.
  • Create and maintain spreadsheets, generate standard reports, and complete subsidiary ledger reconciliations.
  • Identify and assist in implementing process improvements and efficiencies.
  • Review the work of others and provide training as needed.
  • Assist in compiling information related to internal and external audit requests and inquiries.
  • Ensure compliance with internal control procedures.
  • Obtain necessary information to resolve unusual problems.

Requirements

  • Entry-level accounting experience encouraged.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with SAP preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting procedures for accounts receivable, accounts payable, and payroll.
  • Understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and internal controls.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task under tight deadlines.
