About the position

The Accounting Software Support Analyst at CoStar Group is responsible for providing expert support for the CoStar Real Estate Manager software, particularly in lease accounting functionalities. This role involves solving complex technical accounting issues, managing support cases, and guiding clients on applying accounting principles within the software. The position requires strong analytical skills and the ability to communicate complex concepts clearly to clients and team members.

Responsibilities

  • Solve complex technical accounting and finance-related issues while providing expert support for SaaS solutions.
  • Communicate complex technical and accounting concepts into easy-to-understand guidance for clients and team members.
  • Handle support cases with precision, prioritizing, troubleshooting, and escalating issues as needed.
  • Maintain thorough documentation and contribute to the knowledge base and self-service solutions.
  • Participate in initiatives such as targeted customer outreach and training activities as part of the Lease Accounting Center of Excellence.
  • Offer advice on applying accounting principles and lease standards (e.g., ASC 842, IFRS 16) within the software.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited, not-for-profit University or College.
  • 3+ years of experience utilizing Financial or ERP business applications.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex issues effectively.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a team and with other departments to achieve common goals.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical users.
  • A track record of commitment to prior employers.
  • Evidence of strong academic performance in college.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Management Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in diagnosing and resolving technical issues related to software applications.
  • Experience with case management and ticketing systems.
  • Proven experience in providing technical support for SaaS solutions, with a strong understanding of lease accounting and accounting software.
  • Month-end and year-end close process experience, including analyzing and reconciling journal entries and producing financial statements.
  • Ability to anticipate potential issues and develop strategies to prevent them.
  • Experience in creating and implementing SOPs.
