About the position

The Accounting Specialist/Administrative Assistant role at Wyndham Palm Aire involves supporting the Accounting Department by performing various accounting tasks, including generating journal entries, reconciling accounts, and acting as a liaison with Accounts Payable. This position is essential for maintaining accurate financial records and assisting with special projects, contributing to the overall efficiency of the accounting operations.

Responsibilities

  • Assist and support the Accounting group by generating and posting journal entries.
  • Perform balance sheet account reconciliations.
  • Act as a liaison with Accounts Payable, including researching invoices and checks.
  • Review various reports and research invoices as needed.
  • Assist on various special projects as needed.
  • Perform other miscellaneous clerical and accounting-related tasks.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 1 year of accounting experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (minimum of 1 year).
  • Experience with PeopleSoft is helpful.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks.
  • Meet deadlines consistently.

Nice-to-haves

  • Associate's degree in accounting or related field preferred.
  • Accounting-related technical training.
