About the position

The Accounting Specialist for Onboarding at Uplinq will be a key member of the Initialization Team, focusing on providing initial bookkeeping services to clients, creating and executing bookkeeping standard operating procedures (SOPs), and ensuring a smooth transition to the maintenance bookkeeping team. This role is designed for individuals who thrive in a dynamic environment and are eager to leverage their accounting expertise to make a significant impact in the fintech industry.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with Onboarding Specialists to provide initial bookkeeping to clients.
• Create, document, and execute bookkeeping SOPs.
• Handoff clients to the maintenance bookkeeping team.
• Handle a portion of Catch Up bookkeeping.
• Engage effectively with high-value clients to optimize their account setups.
• Lead and support a team in bookkeeping tasks using Uplinq's technology solution.
• Ensure consistency and accuracy in categorization, job costing, and reconciliation.
• Transition companies to maintenance bookkeeping, ensuring a seamless handoff.
• Drive continuous improvement in Uplinq's automated bookkeeping systems.

Requirements

• 3+ years of public accounting experience with small businesses.
• Expertise in cash and accrual based accounting.
• Strong problem-solving skills for complex catch-up and clean-up projects.
• Experience in financial statement preparation and reconciliations.
• Knowledge of U.S. GAAP compliance.
• Ability to communicate complex accounting data clearly to clients.
• Bachelor's degree in business, accounting, or related fields preferred.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with machine learning applications in accounting.
• Familiarity with QuickBooks Online.
