About the position

The Accounting Specialist at The Prestige Group of Companies plays a vital role in supporting the company's financial and administrative operations. This position focuses on accounts payable, billing and invoicing, cash application, financial reporting, and management reporting. The ideal candidate will ensure accurate and timely financial data management, including balance sheet reconciliations and journal entries, while maintaining effective communication with vendors and internal teams.

Responsibilities

  • Process and code invoices, maintain up-to-date records, and ensure timely vendor payments.
  • Generate accurate invoices for equipment, software, and miscellaneous charges, ensuring adherence to company billing standards.
  • Apply cash to accounts accurately, reconcile receivables, and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
  • Prepare and complete monthly balance sheet reconciliations for accounts such as cash, receivables, payables, and accrued expenses.
  • Prepare and post journal entries as needed for month-end close activities, including adjustments to prepaid expenses, accrued liabilities, and revenue recognition.
  • Reconcile monthly bank statements and prepare periodic reports on cash positions.
  • Manage payment schedules to meet all deadlines, track outstanding obligations, and ensure consistent compliance with company payment terms.
  • Oversee ordering of office supplies within budget, maintain accurate inventory records, and manage vendor relationships for cost efficiency.
  • Prepare various financial and operational reports for management on demand or according to a set schedule.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in an accounting role, with exposure to financial accounting (e.g., balance sheet reconciliations and journal entries).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including functions such as PivotTables and VLOOKUP.
  • Experience with accounting software, preferably QuickBooks or ERP systems.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial data management.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in the FinTech industry.
  • Knowledge of cash flow management and reporting.
