The Accounting Supervisor position at a growing mid-size accounting firm in Kansas City involves overseeing accounting operations and leading a team to ensure high-quality client service. This role requires a strong background in public accounting and a commitment to maintaining client relationships and meeting deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Oversee accounting operations and ensure compliance with financial regulations.
• Lead and develop a team of accounting professionals.
• Review financial statements, journal entries, and general ledger activities.
• Conduct reconciliations and tax return reviews, including payroll tax and sales tax.
• Analyze fixed assets and monitor compliance reporting.
• Onboard and develop new clients while improving existing processes.
• Hold staff accountable for exceeding client service expectations.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
• Licensed CPA or eligible to sit for the CPA exam.
• 5+ years of recent public accounting experience.
• 3+ years of experience leading teams (preferred).
• Strong understanding of complex accounting responsibilities.
