About the position

Auto-Owners Insurance, a top-rated insurance carrier, is seeking motivated individuals to join our team for summer internships for Business and Quality Analysts for our Accounting Systems Team. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the insurance industry while working closely with both business and technology teams. Interns will act as a liaison between these teams, ensuring effective communication and collaboration to meet business needs. The role involves organizing and leading meetings with business, technology, and quality assurance teams, which will enhance your leadership and organizational skills. As a Business and Quality Analyst intern, you will work closely with business subject matter experts to define, train, implement, and support business requirements. This will involve gathering and documenting requirements through interviews, workshops, surveys, and existing system documentation or procedures. You will develop business requirements and related business rules based on business decisions, which will provide you with a deep understanding of how business processes are structured and managed. Additionally, you will perform high-level testing in coordination with the detailed testing conducted by quality assurance teams. This includes writing test plans, documenting results, and reporting findings, which will give you practical experience in quality assurance processes. This internship is designed to provide you with a comprehensive understanding of the intersection between business needs and technology solutions, preparing you for a successful career in the field.

Responsibilities

  • Act as liaison between the business and technology teams
  • Organize and lead meetings with business, technology, and quality assurance teams
  • Work closely with business subject matter experts in the definition, training, implementation, and support of business requirements
  • Define requirements through interviews, workshops, surveys, and existing system documentation or procedures
  • Develop business requirements and related business rules based on business decision(s)
  • Work with software tools to gather and document requirements and rules
  • Perform high level testing in coordination with the detailed testing by quality assurance teams including writing test plans as well as documenting and reporting results

Requirements

  • Students should be currently enrolled and entering their junior or senior year in college
  • Above average communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to learn business processes
  • Ability to utilize a PC and applicable business software
  • Competency to learn new software tools
  • Organize and interpret data
  • Ability to handle multiple assignments

Benefits

  • Rate of Pay: $16.00/hour
  • Returning Interns may qualify for a higher rate
