The Accounting/Tax Associate position is an entry-level role at a full-service CPA firm in Irvine, CA, designed for individuals seeking a long-term career in accounting. The ideal candidate will be adaptable, eager to learn, and committed to growing with the firm while handling various accounting tasks for multiple clients.

Responsibilities

• Bookkeeping on a monthly and quarterly basis for various clients, including data entry, bank reconciliation, and journal entries.
• Completing sales tax returns, payroll tax returns, and payroll for various clients.
• Preparing business and individual tax returns.
• Communicating with clients to collect necessary paperwork and documents.
• Communicating with regulatory agencies such as the IRS and FTB.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or equivalent experience in public accounting.
• Solid accounting and tax background.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Working knowledge and solid experience with QuickBooks and other accounting software (preferred).
• Exceptional communication skills.
• Attention to detail and ability to handle multiple projects.
• Positive attitude and self-learner with high cognitive skills.
• Outstanding work ethic and enthusiasm to take on new tasks.
• Ability to work independently and as a team player.

Nice-to-haves

• 1 year of experience in public accounting (preferred).
