About the position
The Accounting Technician (Database Administrator) position at the Department of the Treasury involves maintaining the integrity of the database, ensuring accurate reporting, and performing internal balancing operations. This role is crucial for the Chief Financial Officer Division, where the technician will generate reports, conduct research to correct discrepancies, and ensure compliance with IRS guidelines.
Responsibilities
- Ensure the database is balanced at all times and maintain system integrity.
- Generate reports in the appropriate format and distribute them according to scheduled time frames.
- Perform research to correct the database or general ledger to ensure timely and accurate reports.
- Conduct internal balancing operations of the system.
- Release all weekly, monthly, and yearly reports as prescribed by IRM guidelines.
Requirements
- One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-07 grade level in the Federal service, including experience with accounting procedures and techniques.
- Experience with automated accounting control systems and manual procedures, including account structures and classifications.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with financial reporting and analysis.
- Knowledge of IRS regulations and guidelines.
