About the position

The Accounting Technician II at the NCCIW Healthcare Facility is responsible for maintaining and overseeing financial accounting data and processing activities. This role involves managing accounts receivable and payable, analyzing data for accuracy, and ensuring compliance with policies and procedures. The technician will also prepare financial reports, coordinate fiscal program activities, and communicate effectively with various stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accounting records on separate accounts receivable/payable.
• Handle fiscal and financial operations of the respective work unit and involvement in the budget process.
• Analyze data for accuracy.
• Interpret policy and procedure.
• Reconcile data and ensure overall accuracy.
• Coordinate and/or make recommendations for procedural changes as needed.
• Manage resources, monitor activities, and assess risks and quality control associated with the program.
• Prepare documentation and create financial reports.
• Identify problems, determine possible solutions, and actively work to resolve issues.
• Communicate information to individuals or groups and deliver presentations suited to the audience's characteristics and needs.
• Convey information clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing, to ensure understanding.
• Observe, monitor, collect, and record fiscal data.
• Assess the accuracy, validity, and integrity of data.

Requirements

• Associate's degree in Accounting from an accredited institution and one year of accounting experience; or a high school diploma/GED and three years of accounting experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Documented knowledge of accounting methods and procedures.
• Demonstrated knowledge using accounting software and/or systems.
• Documented knowledge using Microsoft Word and Excel.
